Christmas Tablecloth

Our family gets together every Christmas Eve at my parents.

Last year, my wife Jennifer made some pies and she had them out on the table in her really nice glass and ceramic pie dishes.  There were all sorts of other items on the table as well.

Mike decided he was going to do the tablecloth trick - you know, the one where you pull the cloth out from everything and everything is supposed to stay in place.  Jen was in the next room, so I'm trying to run interference and stop Mike from doing it since I didn't want to explain to her what happened when it failed.  Mike grabbed the cloth said "come on man",  I said "no, I don't want these to break", he said "it'll work, don't worry",  I said "no", he said "just watch", and he pulled with the biggest yank on that tablecloth.  My eyes were as big as saucers no doubt as I watched my life flash before my eyes...... and he pulled that cloth out perfectly (I think a salt shaker fell or something) - everything was still in place and when my heart finally stopped pounding in my throat, I was like ... that was pretty dang cool.  But he scared me for sure.  He was confident it was going to work, but I sure wasn't.... I guess I shouldn't have doubted him.  It was hilarious.

I love you, Mike - you definitely kept things exciting.  Miss you, brother.
